Founded in 1923 with only five highway employees, one asphalt plant and a team of mules, Sully-Miller has grown to be one of the premier road and highway, rail and intermodal, seaport, airport, federal/military and specialty contractors in Southern California. On average, the firm self-performs over 50% on all contracts and brings unique resources with a fully accredited AASHTO certified lab and Traffic Control division in-house.

Blue Diamond Materials
As a division of Sully-Miller Contracting, Blue Diamond Materials provides Hot and Warm Mix Asphalt materials for projects within the Los Angeles, Orange, Ventura, San Bernardino and Riverside County areas from five strategically positioned plant locations. Blue Diamond Materials provides the manufacturing expertise to produce the Hot Mix Asphalt on the majority of the paving projects Sully-Miller performs. In partnership with Blue Diamond, Sully-Miller Contracting is one of the only contractors in the region to have a fully accredited AASHTO certified lab. By doing so we design, paving mixes specific to our client’s needs. This business process has helped make QUALITY a core principal for our organization.
Consistent with our pursuit of QUALITY every Blue Diamond Materials plant have been awarded the National Asphalt Pavement Association’s Diamond Achievement and Diamond Quality Status. NO OTHER ASPHALT PRODUCER IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA HAS ACHIEVED THIS STATUS.
United Rock Products
Mining of Construction Aggregates at United Rock Products in the San Gabriel Valley has taken place since 1916. Their top-rated 300-acre site is located in Irwindale, California, just 25 miles east of Los Angeles.
United Rock supports the contracting operation by supplying both Blue Diamond Materials and Sully-Miller Contracting with the aggregate materials for the projects they supply.
With cutting-edge crushing and screening operations, United Rock also supports the regions projects. Their automated state-of-the-art truck load-out system can load, weigh, and ticket in as little as one minute. Whether making custom blends or creating new products, United Rock Products has the knowledge and commitment to meet even the most specialized customer needs.
